So, I was taken seriously by the rheumatologist! He thinks the extreme joint/bone pain and weakness I've been experiencing might be due to the fact that my vitamin D is extremely low still. I had it checked back in December and it was low (don't recall the numbers...), and I was put on prescription vit. D - 50,000 units once a week.
Well, after eight weeks of that, my vit. D hasn't really increased. He said he has another gastric bypass patient who needs to be on a MAINTENANCE dose of 50,000 units three times a week. Whew! So, he wrote me a prescription for 50,000 units of vitamin D to take twice a week.
So, if you've had a gastric bypass, please get your vitamin D levels checked, as well as your ferritin (iron stores)!! I'm due to have a bone scan done in two weeks, I may have osteomalacia.
I have felt such a nice, soft version of energeticness today. Not frantic or manic, as I sometimes get, then crash - but a balanced flow of energy, enabling me to get a lot accomplished. I think putting lots of good, raw juice into my body is helping, along with taking my meditation more seriously again - I've been a-slackin'.
Today, so far, I've had a litre of blueberry/cucumber/cilantro/cress juice. I also ate an apple. My wheatgrass has sprouted - another day or two I'll have enough for juice. I'm still craving pineapple like crazy, and I think I'll have some shortly - fruit, not juice. My body must be craving bromelain, which is the enzyme contained in pineapple. I'm also craving aloe - is that an odd thing to crave? It feels so good to sit for ten minutes or so and ask my body what it needs, so worthwhile.
It's been awhile -- 2011 now!
